Title: Home Delivery & Assembly Technicians

Description:

Home Delivery Technicians with Select Comfort work on Delivery Teams. Together, they provide an excellent experience for our customers by delivering, assembling and demonstrating the Sleep Number Bed in our customers' homes. Additionally, our Home Delivery Technicians perform maintenance, repairs, and warranty services. This opportunity will offer variety, customer interaction and will allow you to use your mechanical and problem solving skills.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience with one or more of the following:
  • Successful completion of a DOT physical and Drug Screen.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • The ability to lift 100 pounds.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule that will include Saturdays.

Brock Rapp, Columbus

 

Brock has PHD - as he calls it Pride, Hustle and Dedication. Brock says its fun to meet new and interesting people. He has delivered and installed The Sleep Number bed in celebrity's homes, which is exciting, but above all it is rewarding to see how you are a part of this product that changes people's lives. Brock also says this role takes tremendous dedication. Some days will be long, but if you love to work with people there is no better job for you. There will be challenging days when traffic or weather is bad, but because you never really know what the day will hold there is never a dull moment. Brock enjoys his role at Select Comfort for many reasons but mostly because he truly believes in the product and because he genuinely enjoys working with people.

 

Susan LaFever, Kansas City

 

Susan says that in a Home Delivery role with Select Comfort there will be daily variety, problems to solve and the challenge of finding ways to be a more efficient. Susan has worked in the Home Delivery department since it was started and has held several different roles on the team. She says that each role was enjoyable because it was interesting work and always offered a challenge. Along with that, Susan says that one of the best parts of working at Select Comfort is all the new friendships she has developed in her time here. The growth of the organization has created new and exciting opportunities and for that Susan is thankful!

The most enjoyable part of the Home Delivery job for Greg is working with the customers. They are happy and excited to be receiving their new Sleep Number Bed and when they see all the pieces in comes in they just have to watch us put it together. That gives us the opportunity to WOW them on how fast and easy it goes together. A Home Delivery Technician with Select Comfort is part truck driver, part laborer, part customer service, part problem solver, and part trouble shooter. There is always something new you'll encounter, and it's our job to handle it and make it right. We pride ourselves on being able to do that.

Title: Director of Logistics

Description:

The Director of Logistics will oversee and direct all functions and processes, consistent with corporate goals and objectives by executing raw material and finished good transportation and warehouse strategies while managing 3PL relationships.

 Responsibilities Include:

  • - Develop business plans and objectives for the Logistics function that meet the requirements and expectations of the company.
  • - Ensure all suppliers and partners comply with our business ethics and standards of conduct while managing business relationship with UPS, Xlogistics and common carriers.
  • - Establish and maintain business rules and protocol for receiving and delivering products.
  • - Ensure most cost effective, customer focused and operational efficiencies are maximized.    
  • - Assist in negotiating and managing all rates and tariffs with carriers, including volume discounts as appropriate.
  • - Prepare, analyze, and manage time in transit, cost per delivery, percent of utilization, cost savings, split shipments, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • - Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing quality standards consistent with customer NPS program development
  • - Ensure continuous improvements and cost reductions of all processes
  • - Achieve financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing the annual operating plan, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • - Minimum of 10 years of logistics strategic and tactical experience
  • - Strong working knowledge of logistics, including warehousing, distribution and transportation
  • - International logistics is a plus
  • - Knowledge of multi-channel logistics
  • - BS in Business Management desired; MBA preferred
  • - Experience negotiating transportation, warehousing and third party logistics contracts and development of third party development strategies
