Title: Sourcing Manager - Electrical Engineering
Description:
The Sourcing Manager - Electrical Engineering has responsibility for specific major categories of spend for materials used in manufacture of the Sleep Number® bed. Responsible for strategic planning and sourcing of direct materials for achieving significant cost savings, continuity of supply and risk mitigation through effective sourcing practices, negotiation and contract execution.
Responsibilities Include:
-
-Manage spend portfolio involving multiple commodities and annual spend of $50-60 million annually.

-Establish and manage relationships with key suppliers for commodities in assigned portfolio.
-
-Identifies suppliers, solicits and reviews quotes, analyzes prices.
-
-Lead negotiations with suppliers to ensure the best quality, service and cost to achieve business objectives.
-
-Partner with Product Development, R&D, Engineering, Materials Management and Manufacturing in development and launch of new products to meet introduction timelines, cost and quality goals, and service level to customers.
-
-Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement.
-
-Maintain knowledge of market trends including analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvements.
-
-Support supplier initiatives including annual cost reductions, supplier consolidation, favorable business terms, etc.
-
-Manages contract notification and implementation of supplier changes.
-
-Documents source selection and ensures processes comply with internal procedures and guidelines.
-
-Manages supplier compliance and performance to contract.
-
-Conducts business reviews with suppliers.
-
-Manages supplier performance.
-
-Leverage existing technologies to support the sourcing process and identify additional technology needs to augment specific categories where applicable.

-Consistently create, present and implement process improvements within the organization.
Requirements:

-5-7 years experience with direct materials sourcing experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
-
-Demonstrated strong negotiating skills with suppliers.
-
-Demonstrated strong communication skills with all levels of organization and suppliers.
-
-Strong analytic and modeling skills.
-
-Global/international sourcing experience.
-
-Circuit board experience preferred.
-
-Project Management experience.
-
-Strong written communication and presentation skills.
-
-Minimum bachelor’s degree.
-
-MBA preferred.
-
-Additional related education a plus.
-
-Six Sigma certification desirable.
-
-ERP system knowledge required. Oracle experience a plus.

Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer will plan, design and coordinate the implementation of process and equipment improvements for cost-reductions and quality and safety improvements. Improvements will often be focused on existing processes and equipment. Involved in development and startup of new automated assembly equipment. Provides engineering support by troubleshooting problems and effecting timely solutions to maintain continuity of production flow. This position is located at our Salt Lake City, Utah, plant.
Responsibilities Include:

-Support the implementation of new processes and automation projects to the manufacturing floor.

-Focus on and drive specific technical or capital improvement projects (CIP) in assembly, packaging, or other engineering disciplines as assigned.

-Coordinate and communicate assigned projects with the applicable departments.
-
-Specify and/or purchase equipment, tooling and fixtures for process changes.
-
-Define project budgets, create purchase orders and propose CIPs
-
-Install and validate new equipment, tooling and fixtures for existing manufacturing process changes or replication. Responsible for documentation.

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams (as required) to complete assigned projects

-Positively lead teams to initiate change and improvements in area

Requirements:

Title: Quality Assurance Engineer - Supplier
Description:
The Quality Assurance Engineer – Supplier is responsible for execution of the Supplier Quality Strategy and Conduct the Critical Part Supplier Audits by understanding the processes at our key suppliers to develop a continuous improvement mentality. This position is located at our Salt Lake City, Utah, plant.
Responsibilities Include:

-Manage the Supplier Audit Process.

-Lead the CAPA as required from Audits and Non-Conforming Product.

-Develop Control Plans, PFMEA, Work Instructions and Acceptance Standards.
-
-Lead first article approval processes on new raw materials.
-
-Work with R&D to develop proper Print Specifications/Critical Characteristics.
-
-Lead resolution of Corrective and Preventative Actions required with supplier.
-
-Support vendor selection strategies.
Requirements:

-Minimum 6 years experience leading supplier accreditations and audits
-
-Experience with the manufacture of textiles, bedding, plastics, or foam desirable
-
-Knowledge of and experience operating in ISO 9001 environment
-
-BS Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
-
-ASQ – CQA (certified quality auditor) or CQE (certified quality engineer) desirable
-
-ISO 9000 auditor experience a plus – internal or external

-Experienced with process flow mapping and FMEA

-Working knowledge of GD&T concepts, experienced print reading

As a Team Manager (3rd shift) with Sleep Number by Select Comfort you will be responsible for managing production teams in the execution of objectives for their department.
