Sleep Number ® FlexFit ™ 3 Adjustable Base
Remote Control Diminishes Experience
My wife and I spent nearly $9,000 for virtually every option on the Flex Fit with a Sleep Number mattress. We were enticed by the ability to still share a mattress, while enjoying separate adjustments from side to side. While the bed nicely makes such adjustments and is comfortable, the remote control severely diminishes the user's experience. The potential beauty of the remote is the ability for each of us to preset our preferences: reading, sleeping, TV, etc. Inexplicably, however, the remote preferences re-adjusts BOTH sides of the bed. So, if I'm reading when she decides to change to her preset sleep position, suddenly my side of the bed is changed! The workaround is to manually make the adjustment to either side, but in the effort to do so, one or both of us are wide awake again. I understand that the feet must adjust both sides and those typically minor adjustments are ok, but not the head, that's the whole point of a split mattress; this would seem to be a significant design oversight. Two separate customer service calls have confirmed the problem, but just an apology; no further follow up. Pretty disappointing, to say the least.

Comfortable and prevents skin breakdown. Different bed frame leg heights for different preferences on bed height. Adjustable legs and head provide ease of blood circulation and getting in and out of bed or watching T.V.
Didn't receive 5 stars because the remote brakes easily and because it's pricey. There should be some type of remote cover protectors like they use for cell phones.

I want my old ajustable frame back!
I had an adjustable bed for 20 years and the adjustable frame really held up well. In all those years I only had to replace the massage motors twice and the remote every couple of years or so. (I used the massage every nice almost all night long). Whenever I saw the new Flexfit model came out it looks SUPER nice and we went all the way out and purchased the 3. I have had nothing but TROUBLE with it from the start. First the caster wheels will never stay firmly locked and it slides all over the place. This is a dangerous thing b/c I have MD and my husband lifts me into and out of bed.
Also there are 3 different intensity levels for the massage, but the lowest is still way too intense. It is quite loud too. I have already had to have a motor replaced too and it's not even a year old.
Finally, while the remote looks cool because it is all digital, that was a big downer. The batteries go dead to often, because whenever you barely touch it the lights automatically come on. Also the icons wear off and you have to remember where each setting is.
All in all I want my OLD 20 year frame back. It's definitely not worth the huge investment.

Simply the Best Bed I have Ever Slept on
The firmness adjusting alone would make this a 5-star bed. The fact we can rise up each side separately is truly amazing.

Everything about the bed is wonderful, except for the massage unit that is built in the mattress is TERRIBLE, VERY ANNOYING and does not massage. your body at all. As a matter of fact you can't wait to turn it off Definite waste of money. BIG RIP-OFF. The sheets are very cheaply made and unraveling on the hems. ANOTHER RIP-OFF for the price of the flex fit sheets

Massage setting awful
We tried the Flex 3 w/massage feature. We HATED the massage which is just an agitating vibration that after about 30 seconds made us both feel nauseous. I've been on massage beds before that did not do that. That is truly a bad part of this feature. However, the ability to rise, lower and adjust the bed is great. I love this option, however the price for just this feature (doesn't include the mattress) is very expensive. We have 3 sleep number beds….two king, one queen in our home. We don't watch TV in bed so I don't think this is for people who don't watch tv a lot. However, if I had a medical issue with mobility, it would be great.
