Sleep Number ® i8 bed
As We Get Older . . .
All those aches and pains seem, at least to my wife and I, to be far less after sleeping on our new i8 bed for the past 2 1/2 months. Her hip pain has deminished by about 95 percent. I have had two significant back surgeries in the past 30 years, a broken ankle, blown out left knee and now acid reflux. The bed seems to help with the aches and pains and being able to raise the head of my side of the bed helps tremendously with the reflux, not completely, but a lot. There was a bit of sticker shock with the final price, but we won't have to deal with the "swales" or compaction on the "pillowtop" or regular inner spring mattresses. At least we can change the top every 6 years or so.

Best nights sleep ever........Almost
Bed is incredible. Best night’s sleep I have ever had. Only one little problem, the memory foam gets real warm. I just ordered the sleep number coofit foam layer to see if that will help some. With summer rapidly approaching I needed to try and get a handle on this quickly. Other than the warmth of the memory foam the bed is absolutely wonderful. If the coolfit layer doesn’t work I am not sure how to resolve this. This is just about to the point of being a deal breaker with the memory foam being this hot!

Our second Sleep Number bed in 24 years
We have been very happy with our original sleep number bed I believe it was a model 5000 from back in the late 80's early 90's. We decided it was time for a new model since there have been so many changes since then.
The Sleep IQ feature is interesting and we'll see how that goes but having just set up our new bed I can tell you that there have been some significant improvements in design and the quality has remained top notch. I have always been impressed with this company and I am happy to continue our relationship for a better nights sleep.

I8 is fine bed
Had the bed 5 weeks. My wife loved it from the first night. I've struggled finding my sleep number - kept waking up with a backache. The store folks, chat folks and the customer service people are all great and very helpful. I don't often write a product review but the I8 is worth considering.
We purchased a foam topper from sleep number and that has made the bed more comfortable for me. I cannot find the topper on the web site - we ordered it in the store.

Our bed was delivered beginning of December. We have a split king i8. My husband needed a hospital type bed, and this has worked well. He has the head raised to help him breathe, and falls asleep very quickly. Only complaint I really have is keeping the mattresses together. They will shift apart and remotes fall through. We received an excellent sale price. I feel I got the quality I paid for. I might have different thoughts if I paid closer to listed prices.

I have already had a review rejected so all I will say is I made one of the worst mistakes in my life buying a sleep number i8 queen bed. I have not had one good nights sleep. Can't say more or it will be rejected again.

I seem to be having the same problem as everyone else's! We just loved the I 8 split bed in the store but it is no comparison to the I 8 that we received! It does not relieve any of my pressure points and in fact it is worse than my innerspring mattress that I was going to sell. The salesman was excellent on the knowledge of the beds and our experience so far was wonderful but unfortunately I have had no sleep! I had tried different settings and even put my feather bed back on top one night to see if that would help and still no relief. I feel that when spending this amount of money for a bed that you should be able to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. There seems to be a on going problems with what is on the show room floor and to what we are receiving and it should be addressed. The comfort level nor the cooling is not even 20% of what you feel on the one you receive. I have a hard time understanding this when it was actually set at 40 which is suppose to be my number. I am returning the bed

Thinking twice about my choice
My husband and I are Sleep Number fans. We got a classic sleep number bed a few years ago. Because we weren't sure this would be for us, we didn't splurge. My husband LOVED it. Said the back pain he had for years was gone! We decided to upgrade our bed. We bought the I8 and I decided to get the "cool" bed adjustment features, so that each of us could adjust our own side of the bed. My husband joked that it was an old person bed but he went along with it. What we have found is that this bed is only good for couples who don't like to sleep next to each other AT ALL. There is a major gap between the beds, like having two twin beds pushed together and I have found that I am the one who often sleeps in the "hole". We love our bed but are going to trade it out for one without the fancy features so we can actually sleep NEXT to each other comfortably
