Rated 3 out of 5 by from Misled We recently bought our third Sleep Number bed--the p5000--because we wanted to upgrade, even though we were happy with our previous one. While we are happy with the comfort of the mattress, I am disappointed in the height of it. The description indicates it is about 11"; ours is only 8 1/2--the same as our old one. One reason I wanted a new mattress was because I wanted a deeper one. When I called Sleep Number, truly concerned that we had received the wrong item, I was told the size was approximate. "Approximate" would be somewhere in the 1/2" range, I should think, not 2 1/2"! I would not say not to purchase the mattress, but be aware it's not as described.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS BED ... We bought this bed about 20 years ago. We are still sleeping comfy as ever. Loved it so much we bought our kids one and when they got married and moved we bought another one for the "spare room". We are just now looking at them again because of the adjustable beds coming out ... in the next phase of our life we think that would come in handy. I have come back from time to time for memory foam and toppers. I just purchased one the new cool temp mattress cover to try on the spare bed. If I love it, I'll come back for the king size! Thanks!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Replacement parts We bought our 5000 Cal King Set, Dual, Pillowtop, wired in 2004 and I called tonight because the foam comfort pad and the pillow top casing are starting to separate (after 12 years). I was extremely shocked at the cost of the replacement parts. It's a shame to invest so much money into a bed and then to need a replacement part and they make them so high you might as well buy a new bed. What a shame. I really don't know what else to say. Very disappointed. We thought this was a good investment. But they are a very comfortable bed until the foam and pad on the pillow top start to wear out. Then your back to discomfort and lack of sleep.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a bed to buy I had this bed now for almost 2 years and paid $1500. for it. This is the first time a written a review for anything. And i think we should of shopped around a little longer before we bought this bed. For what we paid for this bed we could of bought something a lot better. I heard so many people say how they love sleep number beds. My husband and I both have back issues so we thought this was the way to go. Boy we were wrong. We have tried putting a foam mattress on top of the bed it helped for a little, I wake up in the middle of the night changing the number on the bed and still can't comfortable. We still wake up with lower back pain even after this long. I know everyone has their own opinion but me personally I wish we didn't purchase this bed. So now i have a $1500 bed that is less then 2 years old that don't even give me a good nights rest and have to deal with it until I find a more comfortable bed. My advice to you is if you want a sleep number bed buy one that you can try for the 120 days if you don't like it you can always return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Since 2006 I love my queen sleep number 5000. Bought it through the outlet center. In 2006. Only reason I'm on this site, is because I've been wanting a king size for a while. I wouldn't want any other type of bed. Hopefully, Santa is reading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bed Ever! We have haod our King 5000 model for 14 years. Great comfort and durability. Great for my back and my Wife loves it as well. I have talked to other owners who complain, but they never adjust the mattress. You like "firm" overall, but you may need to adjust it as the needs of your body demand. With traditional bed you don't have a choice, so use the functions and flexibility that you have. Warranty Service is super. When original air pump failed, a new pump was sent out immediately. It was free at that point several years into the warranty. Rcently, the LCD screen on the wireless remote went out. New replacement only $19.00. Pumps and air bladder are fine, so we will replace the outer shell with a new one for P5 with pillowtop. Then get a new King next year and but our current 5000 in the guest room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Been using a 5000 model for 15 years We bought a 5000 model queen size bed around 15 years ago. Best sleep we've ever had. Other than flaky LCD screens on the (wired) remotes, it has been awesome. We got so used to the quality of sleep that we bought another one (the shorter RV size) for our travel trailer. The trailer mattress has one wireless remote that works great. Nice to see we can buy a replacement at a discount.
