Factory Outlet Sleep Number® 5000 bed

Factory Outlet Sleep Number ® 5000 bed 3.6 5 9 9
Sleep Number Model 5000 10yrs. old I don't get it? Looking at reviews and seeing all the negativity on these mattresses confuses me. I've had my mattress for 10 years and is still as good as when I purchased it. The sleep number doesn't display on the controllers but you really don't need the number. I just pump up the bed and release pressure till it's comfortable. After ten years this is the only issue. One thing that people don't get is the recommended frame and box bottom. This mattress needs to be on a firm base. If it's not you will have issues. Don't skimp on the frame. October 13, 2014
Bad sleep My husband and I bought this bed due to its price tag. We thought maybe we could get some better sleep but it has been anything but. We both have tried adjusting our numbers quite frequently and still can't seem to find our number. This bed is so uncomfortable. We actually put a 4" topper on top of it also with still no luck. We are wishing we never bought this bed. We bought this in November 2013 and thought we have given it adequate amount of time but still no such luck. It still is not comfortable by any means August 6, 2014
5000, dual chambers -Owned this bed since Mar 2001 I have Fibromyalgia and after having a bad auto injury - I went from literally sleeping 1 hr at a time to 4 hrs at a time then eventually 8. It was really expensive at the time - total I spent - almost 4K. There weren't many models at the time, I believe it was 3 models total then. I've had to replace 3 air chambers total over 13 yrs. The first 2 were due to mold (manf defect) and the 3rd due to sudden leak. The first 2 were free replacement but the 3rd was prorated / discounted to $99.21. I have never had to replace the wireless remote. I have moved 4 times, I'm a pro at set up and tear down (8x total) it is easy. The last time however we decided to try a reg. bed frame self engineered to support and I must say it is a little different in the comfort. I really suggest utilizing all the select comfort components for MAX personal comfort. I LOVE MY bed. So much that I am pondering getting the newer models and goodies. The ONLY con is the foam rib for the center. They have tried to fix this but it is not just what it should be. I love to cuddle and THIS is a major PITA especially when you have two different settings. OVERALL: This bed is one of my best investments. Yes, investment. If I was just looking for a bed I would have gotten a regular one and suffered as I did all those other years. It had it's cons, sure I wished it would've been absolutely perfect, but then again, I remind myself, "What in life is exactly perfect made by man?".... NOTHING. Then when you consider that they were a newish brand company at the time and they have tried to make amends on defects and considering what I paid total VS: 13 years, $25 a month isn't that bad... Select Comfort / Sleep Number are pretty darn GOOD!!!! June 27, 2014
We purchased this month a little over two months ago. My husband said for the first time in 7 years he was able to get a good nights rest. We have completely different opinions on the firmness of our mattress so we decided to go with sleep number. We liked the p5 but the cost was out of our budget so we found the factory 5000 bed. We absolutely love it so far! May 3, 2014
Store sold this as if it were a P5 We tested out a P5 at the store and loved the Bed. Bought it that Day. when we received the bed it was nowhere near as comfortable. The bed does not have that same comfort even with the 3 inch pad and the bottom support to lift the air chambers. This will be the last purchase from this bed company because they do not deliver what was sold. Do not believe them if they say "the only difference is the topper material is a different pattern. April 15, 2014
king 5000 This was by far one of the worst purchases I have ever made. Within the first 4 years the middle of the bed on both sides is sagging in the middle the remote broke and we had to purchase new ones. NEVER AGAIN!! March 18, 2014
Dont try to cuddle I bought this bed because at the store we tried the P5 and i didnt want to spend that much money at that time so they told me the 5000 outlet bed was the same bed just different cover WRONG. The P5 you couldnt feel the hump in the middle like you can in this bed. My sleep number is 25 and at 25 if i move i litterely hit the modular base, im not the samllest of guys but didnt think 200lbs would be a issue. If your thinking about this bed i would say NO if you like to cuddle with ur partner and be comfortable. They also said they would not deliver to Winter Haven FL which is very weird but the bed is easily built anyone with half a brain could build this bed and save the money. January 16, 2014
I love, love, love my bed! I have had my sleep number bed for about 8 years, moved it four times, and never had a problem with any of it's components. I recently had to buy a new remote as all of my stuff is in storage still, and not going to be unpacked for six months, so could find what box it was in...my bad, but they were so kind and gave me a great deal on one. Their customer service is awesome, and their product is top quality! Sleep quality is amazing... I hurt no more when I get up in the morning . January 1, 2014

Answer:
Thanks for asking, Jackie! The 5000 Outlet model is a previous version of our p5. Both beds are based on the same popular design and the Outlet 5000 is offered at an unbeatable price but doesn't include the most recent innovations our p5 model offers. If you’d like to learn about the specific differences between these models, please copy the link below and paste it into your web browser anytime from 7 AM to 11 PM CT and we’ll be happy to go over that information with you.

Our FlexFit and FlexFit+ adjustable bases can be placed in any compatible bedframe or can be left freestanding and attached to a same size headboard. If you’d like us to check if your bedframe will work with our adjustable bases, please get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to let you know if our bases will work with your current furniture

Answer:
I have a 5000 (5 star) and had to replace the mattress cover. They sent a P5 (4 star) and it doesn't live up to the standard of the 5000. The 5000 was much easier to adjust than the P5 because the P5 has a very hard "memory foam" that just doesn't adjust. With the 5000, a single change will make a difference. I'm adjusting the P5 by 4 level changes trying to match what I had on the 5000 and I still wake up with a backache with the P5. The 5000 doesn't come with the hard foam pad.

Answer:
Thanks for asking, Georgie! Our Factory Outlet 4000 and 5000 bed models are historical versions of our current c4 and p5 beds that are featured at unbeatable closeout prices. Outlet models aren’t refurbished beds, but they may feature a refurbished Firmness Control System (pump) or foundation components. These parts are always inspected and tested for quality and cleanliness prior to being included with any bed and are covered by the same 25 year Limited Warranty we offer with any of our other beds. Our 4000 and 5000 Outlet models don’t come with a trial period due to the deep discount we offer on them, so these beds are best suited for those who already have some experience with Sleep Number® beds and know our products are a great fit for their needs.

If you have any other questions about our closeout models, please just copy the following link and paste it into your browser anytime from 7 AM to 11 PM CT and we’ll be happy to take care of this for you.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Sleepy! We definitely offer bases for our Outlet models, but it looks like our site is experiencing a technical issue which is preventing you from being able to choose a base option for this product. We’ve contacted our IT team about this situation and we expect it to be resolved soon. In the meantime, we’re happy to process this order for you if you can copy the following link and paste it into your browser anytime from 7 AM to 11 PM CT so we can start working with you in real time.

Answer:
Thanks for asking, Clarinet. You can definitely purchase an Outlet model 5000 bed without a base, though we recommend ordering the base so the bed has the support it needs to work correctly unless you're placing the mattress into a bedframe with a solid, non-slat bottom. Our prices are subject to change so I'm not able to post a price quote here, but we would be happy to get you the quote you're looking for if you can copy the link below and paste it into your web browser anytime from 7 AM to 11 PM CT to get in touch with our Live Chat team.

Thanks for posting your question, Matressless. I'm happy to answer this for you! Adding one of our Outlet beds to your cart will automatically add a mattress and base to your order, but you can go into your cart after adding your preferred bed and remove the base if you'd rather purchase just the mattress. If you have any questions about removing the base from your cart or would like us to place this order for you, please just copy the link below and paste it into your web browser anytime from 7 AM to 11 PM CT and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Hi Gracie, thanks for asking! The Split King bed is made up of two Twin XL mattresses which each measure 38" wide by 80" long for a total measurement of 76" wide by 80" long. The height of the bed will depend on the model you’re interested in and this information is included in the product description on each of our bed model pages. Answer:
Hi Scientist, thanks for asking! The Outlet 5000 Mattress and Base will work exactly as-is, but you might want to consider adding a bed frame or base legs to your order if you don’t already have a frame you plan to use with the new bed. You might benefit from some of our other bed accessories as well, but I can't make any specific suggestions without knowing what furniture and bedding you plan to use with your new bed. If you have any questions about what kind of accessories you should consider, please just copy the link below and paste it into your web browser anytime from 7 AM to 11 PM CT and we’ll be happy to talk this over with you and offer you some suggestions.

Answer:
Thanks for asking, Anika! Our Outlet 5000 bed and our p5 model are based on the same popular design. The 5000 bed is offered at an unbeatable price, but is based on last year's model and doesn't feature all the recent innovations we've added to our p5 bed, like the additional quilting foam in the mattress cover, our exclusive PlushFit™ foam that we're now using for the p5 foam comfort pad, and the
Advanced Dual Air technology featured in our Firmness Control System and remote. The Outlet 5000 bed also doesn't come with a 100 Night Trial due to the closeout pricing we offer on our Outlet models.

If you’d like to learn more about either of these beds or any of our other bed models, please just copy the link below and paste it into your web browser anytime from 7 AM to 11 PM CT and we’ll be happy to go over them with you.

    Answer:

    Answer:
Thanks for posting your question, Matressless. I'm happy to answer this for you! Adding one of our Outlet beds to your cart will automatically add a mattress and base to your order, but you can go into your cart after adding your preferred bed and remove the base if you'd rather purchase just the mattress. If you have any questions about removing the base from your cart or would like us to place this order for you, please just copy the link below and paste it into your web browser anytime from 7 AM to 11 PM CT and we’ll be happy to assist you.

    Answer:
Hi Gracie, thanks for asking! The Split King bed is made up of two Twin XL mattresses which each measure 38" wide by 80" long for a total measurement of 76" wide by 80" long. The height of the bed will depend on the model you’re interested in and this information is included in the product description on each of our bed model pages. If you need any more information on our beds, please just post another question or copy the link below and paste it into your web browser anytime from 7 AM to 11 PM CT if you’d like to talk with us directly and we’ll be happy to continue working with you.

Thanks for asking, Fox! You can ask for one of our 5000 Factory Outlet Beds from our website or through any of our local Sleep Number® stores. The price of the Outlet Bed on the product page includes a modular base automatically, but you can remove the base during the checkout process if you prefer to order just the mattress.
