Disappointed We have sleep number beds at home so we purchased one for our RV. Very disappointed in that both my husband and I bottom out and feel like we're actually sleeping on the wooden platform. If we raise our sleep number, then the mattress ends up too hard. Wish we would have kept our original RV mattress. Now looking for a mattress foundation to put under it. Also, it would be nice if sleep number would offer a mattress pad and sheets that actually fit the shorter RV bed. August 14, 2012
Awesome Bed This is the best bed we've ever had in an RV. I wouldn't buy another RV without it. Usually with our old mattress after about 2 weeks I'm ready to go home to my regular bed but not with the Sleep Number Premier. I have a bad back so it's great to have the visatility to adjust the firmness whenever I need to. It's so comfortable that when I buy my next mattress for the house It's going to be a Sleep number without a doubt!!!! ;-) November 7, 2011
BEST THING WE EVER DID This bed is amazing ! trust me when I say this is the most comfortable bed ever! We love it so much we are getting a sleep number for our home ! i would highly recomend this for your rv, the greatest investment ever ! June 5, 2011

Hi Michael, great question! My name is Alan and I work for Sleep Number

Mattresses designed for sofa beds require special considerations in order to work properly, like a method to hold the mattress to the sofa frame, components designed to be regularly folded and compressed, and sufficient space to put the pump system without risk of damage. These features aren’t currently included in the design of any of our Sleep Number beds, so we can’t recommend using our mattresses on a sofa sleeper.

What you are looking for I am sure Michael is at AirDream.net. Had one on our Sofa bed in our RV. Works good and better yet sleeps good. I did replace two of them under warrenty because the coils poked holes in the Air bladder. Here is a hint. Set it up and go to lowes or home Depot and purchase a length of ligh weight Rug Runner...they are cheap. Need to get it long enough to cover the whole underside of the air bladder. Cut it to two lengths and overlap it a bit in the middle. Slip it between the air bladder and the coil spriings below that. Whenn I figured that out I had no more problems with slow air leaks due to pin holes poked into the air bladder. Easy to inflate or deflate and folds up with the bed portion of the sofa.

    Answer:
Hi Jason, thanks for asking. I'm so sorry for our delayed response! It's true that a Sleep Number bed's low weight could make it ideal for your boat, but I'm afraid our beds haven't gone through testing required by the International Maritime Organization for any mattress that’s going to be used in a water-based vehicle and we can’t recommend using your RV mattress on your boat for that reason.

    Answer:
Hi Beck, thanks for giving us a chance to answer this for you! Our Premier RV beds have a maximum height of 11". This measurements is taken from the crown of the bed when it's fully inflated, so it's not unusual for the bed to be 1.5-2" shorter when measured from the sides.

How to install in a slide

We bought a sleep number bed for our home 8+ years ago and love it! Now we are considering buying one for our new 5th wheel. Our king bed, 72" x 80", is located in a slide. The mattress support board can be raised and there's storage underneath we assume where the pump could be located. The location of the air tubes seems to be an issue. The electrical outlets are not installed in the slide which presents another problem. We really want this bed however it seems that there are many issues that make this purchase questionable. Please advise.

Hello, Norma! My name is Alan and I work for Sleep Number. I can gladly answer your question referring to our RV King beds.

The RV King and RV Radius King are both 72" in width and 80" in length. The Radius King has rounded corners to fit many standard RV bed frames where the regular RV King has regular corners.

      Boat usage

Would the RV beds work on my boat? The lightweight design seems like it would be ideal.

I hope this information helps you. If you have any follow-up questions you’d like us to answer for you, please copy the link below and paste it into your web browser anytime from 7 AM to 11 PM CT and we’ll be happy to assist you with them.

What are the actual weights of the various RV mattresses?

I need to be very conscious of the weight I add to my RV. I'm considering the different mattresses, but need to know what they weigh.

      Answer:
Hi sanjuanmountain, thanks for taking the time to post your question about using our beds in a slide! Whether or not the Sleep Number RV beds can be used in a slide depends on the type of slide your RV utilizes. We'd ask that you give us a call at 1-888-411-2270 from 8AM-8PM CST, M-F and 8:30AM-5PM on Saturday and we'll look into that in more detail for you. We look forward to your call!
