Best bed ever This is my third Select Comfort bed, but first RV model bed. I bought the low end model bed and wish I had gone ahead and spend more on a higher end version. Don't get me wrong I LOVE IT but the higher end versions are worth the extra money and I'm spending even more time in my RV than I ever thought that I would. These beds are great and worth the money, I sleep so well. November 23, 2012
Second bed I just purchased my second sleep number mattress. First one was for my travel trailer. Have used for 6 months and am happy with it even though it is the low end model. Was happy enough with it that I bought another for my bed at home but this time I went with a much better quality. I know I will remain happy with this one as well. March 12, 2012
RV Mattress Deluxe This is our second Sleep Number Mattress. Our first bed was purchased in 1997 for our home and when we bought our motorhome in 2007 I knew we'd want one for it as well. Totally comfortable all the time. No morning back aches and a good night of sleep. You can't go wrong with purchasing a Sleep Number Bed no matter where you want to use it! January 13, 2011
Very dissapointed I have a sleep number bed at home and love it! I just purchased one for my motorhome and I was very dissapointed. The quality of this bed is nowhere near the quality of the one in my home, even though it costs $200 more than the same bed for home use. If you are expecting the same quality, don't buy this one!!! January 10, 2011
Great Product ! This is our second SN Bed. It fits perfectly in our RV. The quality and customer service is just as good as when we bought our King 10 years ago. I would recommend that you upgrade to the wireless firmness control. KB April 27, 2010
Great mattress This is an awesome mattress. I've had one for three years and my back hasn't hurt since I started using it. Highly recommended. January 17, 2010

Answer:
I asked the same question on Sleep number chat, their answer: We do not recommend purchasing a core line bed for installation in an RV. Mattresses intended to be installed in RVs are required to meet specific federal fire retardant standards that are only applicable to motor vehicles. Our RV line of mattresses meet these requirements. Our core line beds are designed to meet Fire Retardant Standards that are applicable to mattresses intended for normal, household use.

Answer:
Quick and dirty answer is that it is your RV and your bed. We bought the non RV model queen several years ago. It travelled in our RV with no problems for over 2 yrs which then we quit 11 yrs of full time RVing. Sold the coach and bought a stick and brick home and the mattress went with us...So for the last 3 yrs I guess you could say it has been legal for the Gov't concerns. Since only one person would be sleeping on it we got the single bladder mattress. It is about 5 yrs+ old with no problem and has had one of us sleeping on it every night.

Hi Bigirish, thanks for asking about the RV Deluxe Mattress! My name is Alan and I work for Sleep Number.

We don't have a model or size that will fit those exact measurements. The closest we have would be our Eastern King size, which would be 76" x 80" width by length.

If you need more information about the RV Deluxe Mattress, or the sizes it's available in, please use the link below to speak with a member of our Live Chat team who will be happy to assist you. Our Chat agents are available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM CT every day.

Where does the pump go? We have very limited space on the sides of the bed; almost none at the foot. If we were to put the pump under the bed in the compartment, how would we install it?

Hello, ModocOraganGig! My name is Andy and I work for Sleep Number. I can gladly answer your question referring to our RV mattresses.

All of our RV mattresses use our Firmness Control Systems, (or air pumps,) and include extended hoses to reach the mattress and sit on the side of the bed, or wherever you like.

If you have any questions regarding our RV models, please feel free to use the link below to speak with a member of our Live Chat team who will be happy to assist you. Our Chat agents are available from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM CST every day.

Answer:
In our RV there was a 110 outlet on the side of the bed platform. I used a hole saw to drill a hole for the plug of the electrical cord to go thru, The pump was seated on the floor inside the platform. The mattress was turned so the hoses were at the foot of the bed. I drilled holes in the platform surface so that the hoses could get up to the mattress. Worked very well for 2 yrs installed in our coach. We have quit full timing and the mattress went with us to a stick and brick home and has worked very well for another 3 yrs. 5 yrs with someone sleeping on it every night.

You might be able to find a 110 outlet nearby that you could run a heavy duty extension cord to the power cord for power. The pump motor draw is not heavy and once you adjust and get happy with the inflation it will hold that setting seemingly forever.

Answer:
The sleep number mattress is not set up for a sleep sofa that gets folded and unfolded. Our RV had such a sofa and the air over coil mattress are very good. I had to replace it Twice, both times under warrenty. It was because the ends of the coils rubbed their way through the covering between them and the air bladder. That was fixed by putting two lengths of a thin industrial type rug material over between them. Problem solved. I wish I could remember the name of the factory that makes them but age takes its toll. I would search for Sofa Bed Air over Spring mattress. When and if you get one for your sofa get to Lowes or Home Depot and be preventative by finding the thin rug runners they are called and putting it between the bladder and spings.

Thanks for asking, Wrsnead! Our pump system is designed to retain the air in the bed when power to the unit is cut, so you should only need to power the system up when you plan to inflate or deflate your bed. Please be sure the pump finishes prior to unplugging it, though!

Mine has been plugged in 24/7/365 for the 2 yrs we had it in the RV and 3 yrs since we quit full timing and moved into a home bringing the Sleep number with us. If it is not pumping it is not using electricity. The remote control even has the original batteries in it. So yes it remains plugged in. It does not loose air. Once you set it to what you like forget it.

Electricity requirements

I assume the mattress is filled with air using electricity. If one is camping without electricity, will the air level stay the same or is this an issue. Does the mattress stay plugged in all the time?

We live full time in our rv and need a mattress but do not always park with electrical hook ups.

The RV Mattress Premier comes with our Innovations series Firmness Control System which has the following specifications: 115 volts, 0.5 amps and 60 watts. While you will need the pump to be receiving power to inflate or deflate the bed, it will maintain its firmness without power.

Answer:
We used a queen sleep number in our RV for 2 yrs. Never had any problems with air leaking out of it. Set it and forget it. Been that way for 3 more years after we settled down and bought a stick and brick. Someone is sleeping in it every night for 5 yrs. Our coach had a 2500 inverter and it only takes a small bit of time to pump to a higher level if the number had been set to a lower number for some reason. Now your coach may have a smaller inverter and battery bank for the "house" requirements when not hooked up. Ours was a 40'DP with 6 each 6volt "house" batteries. I never heard or felt the pump run after setting it to my number..never!

Answer:
Hi Kathy, thanks for posting your question about our RV Mattress Premier. While core line models and RV models will share a number of characteristics, the RV Mattress Premier is designed to meet the Federal requirements pertaining to furniture that you have in an RV. It will also offer longer hoses attached to the Firmness Control System than our core line models, which help facilitate placement if the Firmness Control System in the RV as a nearby spot is not always available. While we don't recommend using our core line models in an RV, as you mentioned, there's no reason you wouldn't be able to use one of our RV models in your home, should you prefer.

If you have any other questions about our RV Mattress Premier, or any of our models, please simply copy the link below and paste it into your web browser from 7AM-11PM CST seven days a week to chat with us and we'll be more than happy to continue assisting you.

Answer:
Of course you can. It is all about Gov't regulations concerning flamability in motor vehicles. But why spend extra money that works the same as a nonRV. We put a non RV mattress in our RV 5 yrs ago. We sold the RV 3 yrs ago and took the sleep number mattress with us to our new Stick and Brick. Has worked great for 5 yrs with someone sleeping on it almost every night.

Motor and Hoses Need to be at Foot of Bed

I need a short queen with radius corners but the hoses and motor would need to be at the foot of the bed where there is storage space. There is no under bed storage at the top so no room to put the motor and hoses. Will the short queen radius work or are there no options to switch the mattress and still have the radius corners at the bottom? Any suggestions?

Answer:
The corners are squared off Lola. We drilled access holes in the bedfram base to get them up to the mattress. Lift the bed platform and look at what you have under it and think of drilling holes in the platform. You will figure it out I am sure. Worked for two years on our non RV Queen mattress. The major difference is the Gov't flamability requirements so the company must adher to them.

Looking for a replacement for a Winnebago View Sofa/air mattress.

I have a Winnebago 2009 24P View RV, the sofa/air mattress is missing; the size is about 52" x 70". Do you make such?

    Answer:
Hi Ddispo, thanks so much for your interest in the Sleep Number bed! I'm afraid we don't have any beds that match the size you're looking for. The closest RV size to the measurements you gave is our RV Short Queen, which measures 60" wide by 75" long.

    Answer:
Thanks for asking, Wrsnead! Our pump system is designed to retain the air in the bed when power to the unit is cut, so you should only need to power the system up when you plan to inflate or deflate your bed. Please be sure the pump finishes prior to unplugging it, though!

    Answer:

HI Djklein, we appreciate you taking the time to post your question about our RV Mattress Premier! I'd be more than happy to help answer this questions for you.

The RV Mattress Premier comes with our Innovations series Firmness Control System which has the following specifications: 115 volts, 0.5 amps and 60 watts. While you will need the pump to be receiving power to inflate or deflate the bed, it will maintain its firmness without power.

If you have any other questions about the RV Mattress Premier, please feel free to simply post them here, or you can copy the link below and paste it into your web browser to connect with our Live Chat Agents who can also answer any questions you may have.

    Answer:
Hi Lola, thanks for taking the time to post your question. We want you to know that, while moving the position of where the hoses will connect with the mattress, the RV Mattress Premier will offer longer hoses attached to the Firmness Control System than our core line models, which help facilitate placement if the Firmness Control System in the RV as a nearby spot is not always available. To determine if this will fit your current RV, we recommend copying the link below and pasting it into your web browser from 7AM-11PM CST seven days a week to chat with us so we can look into this for you in detail.
