SOLUTIONS: SLEEP TEMPERATURE

FIND YOUR PERFECT SLEEP TEMPERATURE

Sleep hot or cold? Whether temperature fluctuations are internal or external, finding the right balance can be a challenge. If you find yourself flipping your pillow throughout the night to find the “cool” side, here are some ways to keep comfortable at night.

FIND THE IDEAL ROOM TEMPERATURE

Research tells us that the ideal bedroom temperature for sleep is around 65 degrees. At this temperature your body doesn't have to do anything to create heat (shiver) or shed heat (sweat) to compensate for being too cold or warm.

TAKE A WARM SHOWER NEAR BEDTIME

Ironically, it will help you cool off for sleep.

FIND A BALANCE

If you're sharing a bed, you may have found that you and your partner have different temperature preferences. Dual–warmth comforters, like Create Your Perfect Comforter℠ from Sleep Number®, are a great option for keeping you both sleeping comfortably through the night.

AVOID EXERCISE OR LARGE MEALS CLOSE TO BEDTIME

Both greatly elevate body temperature and can interfere with sleep.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT BEDDING

Sleep too hot or too cool? Consider temperature–balancing bedding from Sleep Number. The DualTemp™ layer allows you to heat or cool each side of the bed with active air technology, so you can both sleep exactly the way you like. In Balance™ bedding adapts to you. It absorbs excess heat, and then releases it back as your body gets cooler in the early morning hours.

The In Balance mattress pad is the greatest. I would recommend it to anyone that sleeps warm or may have hot flashes.
