SET IT UP

  • Begin by turning on your device’s Bluetooth function.
  • Get the SleepIQ app or login to your SleepIQ account on your device.
  • Make sure you are within 8 feet of the bed you are pairing.
  • Tap on Remote, and tap the bed you would like to pair to SleepIQ System.
  • The SleepIQ app will guide you through the pairing process. You will be asked to enter your Wi-Fi password to complete pairing. Passwords are case sensitive. If unable to complete pairing, you will still be able to use the remote feature on the SleepIQ app to control your bed, however, your bed will not record your sleep data until connected to Wi-Fi.
SleepIQ System Setup Guide

A Sleep Number bed requires a firm flat surface to evenly support the air chambers inside your bed. A traditional box spring does not provide the support required for a Sleep Number mattress. The firm solid surface offered by a modular base, FlexFit Adjustable Base or a platform bed is the ideal surface for your Sleep Number mattress. Please contact Customer Service for assistance choosing a base for your bed.

Headboard Brackets and Footboard brackets are sold separately and can be added on to any mattress and modular base set. Sleep Number Modular Base Legs are required to attach a headboard or footboard to your modular base. These brackets are only necessary if your bedroom furniture does not already have brackets to attach to frame/base.

FlexFit headboard brackets are sold separately, and can be added on to any FlexFit Adjustable Base. A footboard is not compatible with a FlexFit Adjustable base, because the base needs space to adjust. Headboard brackets can be used with the standard size legs included with your FlexFit Adjustable base. For a full selection legs and accessories options please refer to the FlexFit Assembly Guide. FlexFit headboard brackets, legs and additional accessories can be ordered in Sleep Number stores or by contacting Customer Service.

The height of your bed will be determined by your mattress model, base (modular, FlexFit or none), legs/frame option and the furniture you place your bed on at home. See the specifications of our different options below.

A Sleep Number modular base can be placed inside any standard sized bed frame or bedroom furniture. Our optional legs (sold separately) can be attached to the modular base in place of a bed frame as well.

If you are purchasing a FlexFit Adjustable base, the base can stand–alone or be placed inside your freestanding bed frame. Please call us or chat with us online if you need assistance ordering optional accessories for your bed.

A surge protector is not required for the electrical components of your Sleep Number bed. If you choose to use a surge protector, it should have a joule rating of 3000 or higher.

Note: The FlexFit Control System is not compatible with a surge protector. Plug your FlexFit Control System directly into an un–switchable wall outlet, if possible. A power strip with a minimum of 10 amps may be used if additional outlet space is needed.

Push in the circular connector pin and gently pull to detach the connector hoses from the heating and cooling sources. Pack them in a box with packing material to minimize shock and vibration in transport.

If your DualTemp Layer came with Secure Fit System Bands, detach the Secure Fit System Bands (2-4) on each side, then slide them out from between the mattress and base. Gently fold or roll the layer and double bag to prevent soiling during transport.

For more details, refer to your DualTemp Assembly Guide.

We recommend having two people disassemble and/or reassemble your bed.

All bases: Unplug the FlexFit Control System from the wall and disconnect all cables connected to the FlexFit Control System. Secure the cables by wrapping or tying them to the frame of the base. Pack your remote(s) and FlexFit Control System in a box with packing material to protect during transport. Important: The head and foot sections of the base bend. Use caution when moving. The base is heavy and will require two people to move it.

SleepIQ System Setup Guide
  • Wi–Fi Connection: SleepIQ requires Wi–Fi to connect to SleepIQ Systems. You can still inflate and deflate your bed without a Wi–Fi connection. NOTE: If you have MAC Filtering set up on your Wi–Fi network, add the MAC address from the label on the SleepIQ Firmness Control system to your network.
  • Wi–Fi Password: Passwords are case sensitive and must be between 8 and 64 characters. If you have an open network you will not have to enter a password to connect your SleepIQ system.
  • Wi–Fi Security Setting: Make sure the security setting on your Wi–Fi network is WPA2 (recommended), WPA or WEP (not recommended).
  • Router Compatibility: The SleepIQ system is a single–band device that requires a 2.4GHz frequency to connect. We recommend a single n–band 2.4GHz or a simultaneous dual–n band router. Please contact the manufacturer of your router for support in checking or setting your router broadcast signal.

If you have a dual–band router that does not broadcast 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously, we recommend choosing between the following options:

  • Set your router to 2.4GHz
  • Add a single–band 2.4 GHz router
  • Upgrade to a simultaneous dual–band router

The SleepIQ app requires a wireless Apple or Android device with the latest operating system in order to run. Older devices may not be able to run the latest iOS or Android operating system. Check with your carrier if you aren’t sure if your device supports the latest operating system.

If you recently moved or changed your Wi-Fi password you’ll need to update your Wi-Fi Network in the SleepIQ app. Standing next to your bed, turn Bluetooth on in the settings menu of your wireless device, login to the SleepIQ App, tap the remote icon in the top right, tap the settings gear next to your bed, and tap Update Network. Follow the steps to update your Wi-Fi network and reconnect your bed.
