Delivery of your mattress and modular base, plus simple instructions to set up your bed yourself (no tools required) Note: FlexFit™ Adjustable bases must be shipped using our Custom Service℠ Home Delivery.
Mattresses and modular bases are packaged in 1 to 6 boxes, depending on the bed model. Orders are shipped in their entirety, but occasionally boxes may get separated during transit.

Orders with multiple items
Your Sleep Number® bed (the mattress and base) will arrive at your home as a single shipment.
Bedding Collection items (such as sheets, pillows and mattress pads) are shipped separately and, when possible, will arrive before your bed.
Timing: Standard ground shipping
Allow 10-14 days for your order to arrive. Factory Outlet and Demo models can take between 3 to 4 weeks to arrive.
Timing: Custom Service Home Delivery
Allow 10-14 days for your order to arrive. Delivery service outside the standard Comfort Service Home Delivery area may take up to 21 days.
Within 5 days of purchase: A home delivery scheduler will contact you to offer you a delivery date and verify the delivery address and phone numbers. If you have not been contacted within 5 days of purchase, please call 1-800-717-9503. Within 2 weeks of purchase: You will be offered a delivery and assembly date within this period. 48 hours prior to delivery: A home delivery scheduler will communicate a 4-hour delivery window of your installation. 1 hour prior to delivery: Your technicians will provide a courtesy call before they arrive. During delivery: A complimentary service of either relocating one innerspring mattress and box spring within your home, or removing one permanently will be provided. A brief review of your Sleep Number bed and owners manual will be presented.
Prepare for your Custom Service Home Delivery
To make sure your Custom Service home delivery and set-up goes smoothly, take the following steps.
An adult 18 years or older must be present.
Secure pets and ensure a safe walking path and work area before delivery technicians arrive.
Strip the existing mattress of all linens (sheets, blankets, etc).
If your purchase does not include a frame, base legs, or adjustable base, ensure an existing frame is set up.
Remove waterbed frames if not being used with the Sleep Number® bed. If the frame will be used, please drill holes to accommodate firmness control system houses (Guide for Drilling Holes for Waterbed Replacement).
Sleep Number® bed requires electrical source within 5 feet of operation.
To protect your firmness control system against unexpected power surges, we recommend using a surge protector.
Due to liability issues, technicians will not attach headboards, disassemble, drill holes in, remove or relocate bedroom furniture, waterbed frames, platform bases, or competitor's adjustable bases.
Technicians may refuse to install your Sleep Number® bed or remove your old mattress if there are obvious signs of mattress contamination, including bodily fluids, bed bugs or other pests.
Prepare for your base
If installing on a hardwood floor, or other solid surface floor, we recommend placing rubber caster cups underneath each bed leg.
If using an existing decorative bed frame with an adjustable base, please reference the FlexFit™ Adjustable Base section on the Assembly tab for minimum space requirements.
Technicians may refuse to install your Sleep Number bed or remove your old mattress if there are obvious signs of mattress contamination, including bodily fluids, bed bugs or other pests.
