Great bed for bad back We've had our x12 for a year now. Love it. I hadl5/s1 herniation about 5 years ago and have had horrible pain since. Previously had to switch beds in different rooms of the night to accommodate my need, from hard to soft. Now after the x12 my back pain has been very low to nil. My wife and I love it. Im a 35 she's, a 55 sleep number. Under light is perfect. only thing that happened was our mattress cover tore at the flex split. Sleepnumber replaced it without questions and shipped it out immediately. No complaints, everything works great. Its my go to spot to read and sleep. Don't use the massage that much, but the soft bed, flex top, and light for us is heaven. Its sure expensive, but in the end, my back health and sleep is everything. I heard we are the first in San Diego to get one and we are proud of that! Thanks Sleep#. May 24, 2015
Best bed ever!!! We've had our X12 for 7 months now. My wife has had back pain 24/7 for 10 years. She has not been able to sleep on her side since her injury well that was before we got our x12. We've had 3 Sleep number beds before getting our x12 and have really liked them. So when my Wife wanted me to check out the x12 I wasn't really wanting to spend the money on it after all how much better could it be. I have to say after watching her lay on her side for the first time in 10 years I was amazed. When I layed on it myself I have to say it is the most confortiable bed I ever layed in. Well now after 7 months I wouldn't have any other bed. My Wife can now sleep at night and I sleep better then ever. Thank you Sleep Number! The only other thing I would have to say is if it's your frist Sleep number it can take a while to find your number and a 5 point adjustment can make all the difference. So I would reccomend call Sleep number for their help. December 30, 2014
Bed Needs to Be IMproved I slept on this bed last and felt like I was sleeping on an air mattress. Very hard to get comfortable when you're moving around. I had a hard time turning over because your body sinks down into the mattress, so it' s very difficult to turn over. I'm a little disappointed in the side tables and the lighting feature because the app controls don't work correctly with the lighting feature. When you press all lights on - you then have to press the lighting on the tables to turn on. The lighting feature underneath the bed could be improved with adding a color coding all the way around the bed. Right now - it's two strips and bright white. The app is the only thing I can recommend with this bed. It takes your heart rate and monitors your sleeping patterns. December 11, 2014
FlexTop not so flexable I just got a FlexTop Cal King delivered yesterday. There are lots of things I love about this bed, but I'm really disappointed with the functionally of the FlexTop. If you try to use any of the presets on the remote, the bed will function as a solid mattress. You can have the remote set to control either the left or the right, but if I press "Watch TV" the whole bed will go to the watch TV position. With the FlexTop, I would expect my head and both our feet to go to the watch TV position. I would not expect my partners head to change from it's current position. The even more disturbing thing is that it is the same for the favorite setting. When I create a favorite for my side of the bed, I would expect it to store my head position and the common foot position. I would not expect it to store my partners head position... but it does. So if I tell my side of the bed to go to my "Favorite" position, it will change the head position of my partner. This is very surprising to me. The only way to get truly independent control over you head position and not affect your partners head position is to use the "Head Foot" button to explicitly set your head position. The eliminates the benefits of presets and ultimately reduces the value of the FlexTop mattress... which is unfortunate, because it's very innovative. To be totally clear, this is a flaw in the FlexFit base. It's not just the x12 bed that is effected, but all FlexTop mattresses. On the up side, it's a software choice that the engineers made and it could be changed with a firmware update... if not a firmware update, then certainly a swap of the FlexFit base control module. Here's hoping it gets fixed or I might be taking advantage of that 100 night trial. June 6, 2014
Incredible bed!! The X12 is the most amazing bed on the planet… I have never been more comfortable or slept so well in a bed before. My wife and I bring this bed up in discussions every single day. It really deserves 10 stars!! April 14, 2014
