Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love my bed We have had our bed for approx 14years. Yep, it's been so long I have lost track! I still love it. (The hubs is a bit indifferent) I have some issues with sciatica and my job is such that it's an ongoing battle. This bed is wonderful in that I can adjust it to suit my needs without my husband being affected. (He is a lower number than I am) Just this week I am experiencing deflation issues. I dread using any other mattress until either we find a replacement or get a new one. But I do want a SC bed for sure. Count me a "Lifer". The only obstacle is the price of a new bed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleep numbers I've had four Select Comfort beds over the last 20 years (I have multiple or have given them away as I have upgraded -- all are still in regular use). I just wanted to say that between the commercials (Lindsey Wagoner and her sleep number of 35), and many reviews indicating people hate the bed (usually including their sleep number below 50), one thing is astonishingly clear. The company is doing a very VERY poor job at properly preparing people to use the bed. My sleep number is 80. Yes, I said 80. And others that have slept on my bed have been between 70 and 100 after me giving them the speech about starting high and working your way down. For me, anything below about a 70 and I feel like I'm sleeping in a really really cheap under-inflated raft, or as one reviewer points out, a waterbed. My current bed, by the way, was anything but cheap, and after some eight years with this one, I still could not be happier. The fact that response from the company isn't to start at a much higher sleep number and work your way down just baffles my mind. Anyway, just wanted to put my two cents in. It is one of the few things I own that I couldn't do without -- and I hate to see people come close to experiencing it but be guided to completely miss a positive experience, much less a pivitol one. I have also spent large amounts of money on high-end traditional mattresses and experienced the almost immediate wear patterns (and I'm not a huge guy) -- and gone through the warranty process for the 10+ year warranty only to have it measured and be told that it is "within the tolerances for this point in it's age). Air never has these issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 25 years or more and counting! We have had our bed a long time, moved three times and it still is the only bed that gives us our comfort. Our bed is before the raised head. We sure could use one of those because I have terrible heartburn even with meds. However, we would only want a sleep number bed. Just wanted to let people know that our bed has been on regular king size base (just rails and boards) the whole 25 years and we have had no problem. Money is very tight for us so we opted to use what we had. My husband is a Baptist Minister. We have moved a lot and are retired. It is so nice to have a bed made so well that it travels and moves easily. Hope someday we can get a new one but for now we love our comfortable sleep number bed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from UNCOMFORTABLE - hurts wifes back no matter what se Poor quality bed. I explained to staff that bed is not comfortable. HURTS wife's back when she tries to sleep on it no matter the sleep number. Their response is to buy more product from them to make it comfortable. Here is the response from the rep... "Our beds have Dual Air Technology to allow you to have the option to adjust the firmness settings per side so that you're both comfortable. If the issue is that your bed doesn't have enough cushion for comfort and support, then you would want to look into adding an additional layer to it." DON'T waste your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from below expectation. After reading all the good reviews about Sleep Number, we decided to go give a try and upgrade from our tradition queen to sleep number king. It has been a while now, beside the size, I couldn't find it better than the tradition spring mattress. I have back pain or should pain every morning. I even went to the store and using the machine to find out what is my comfort number is (35). I have also try to sleep with different number (25, 30, 40, 45) to see if it will make a change. Since it is a factory deal, i couldn't return / exchange it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the right bed. My wife can't stand this bed and refuses to sleep on it. I told sleep number my problem and they sent a comfort kit (thicker foam inserts) to try and make this bed more comfortable, however, she still thinks it feels like a water bed. I will contact sleep number again and ask for an exchange.
